Calvin Harris Is The First Artist In The World For This Move

Calvin Harris has become the first artist to say that he will no longer release albums.

Instead, the superstar DJ will now opt in putting out songs when they are ready, starting with his new single My Way, which is out this Friday.

The change in tack by the star is because of the knock-on effect streaming is having on the industry.

A source told The Sun ‘’Calvin has always been a forward-thinker and believes just releasing singles is the way forward.

“Albums don’t sell how they used to and artists are now seeing streaming as the future.

“Albums are time-consuming and limit artists to cycles rather than having a persistent presence in the charts.

“Calvin is one of the most-streamed artists in the world so it would make sense to exploit that success.”

Harris became the first musician to reach one billion Spotify streams in 2014 and his recent hit This Is What You Came For has been dominating the streaming rankings.
