Frank Ocean Has SLAMMED Taylor Swift Ahead Of The Grammys
Frank Ocean has launched a scathing attack on two of the brains behind the Grammy Awards ceremony, slamming Taylor Swift's 2016 Album of the Year win as "hands down one of the most 'faulty' TV moments I've seen."
The open letter, posted to the rapper's Tumblr on Saturday night, was a response to Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich and show writer David Wild's interview with Rolling Stone in which the duo labelled Ocean's 2013 performance as "not great TV".
"We executed his vision knowing that it was faulty," Ehrlich said in the article. "And we tried to tell him that, we tried to tell his management that, we tried to tell the record label that.
"So, his feelings about the Grammys right now, I would imagine, probably go back to that in one way.
"But honestly, it wasn't us."
And, after telling the New York Times that he had decided to stay out of this year's Grammys because "the infrastructure of the awarding system and the nomination system and screening system is dated", Ocean was NOT holding back in firing back at Ehrlich and Wild.
"Yea yea, my 2013 performance at the Grammys was absolute sh*t," the 29-year-old began. "Thanks for the reminder. Very much appreciated.
"You know what's not 'great TV' guys? 1989 getting Album of the Year over [Kendrick Lamar's] To Pimp A Butterfly.
"Hands down one of the most 'faulty' TV moments I've seen."
Ocean also blamed Ehrlich and Wild for creating an awards show that "put [people] to sleep", and told them to "use the old gramophone to actually listen bro, I'm one of the best alive."
Anyone else getting very real, very raw flashbacks to the 2009 MTV Awards and Kanye's "I'mma let you finish" moment.
