Kendall Jenner's Met Gala Dress Was One Piece Of String
We knew this was going to be the best Met Gala of all time when The Weeknd was snapped motorboating Selena Gomez on the red carpet.
But the fun just kept coming; Rihanna is wearing some paper cut-out creation that is definitely going to require assistance to pee in, Kylie Jenner actually SMILED for the cameras and Katy Perry is living her best life in a Lady Gaga-esque veil.
New York has gone mad, and we're loving it.
Then Kendall Jenner swans in, all long legs, red lipstick and totally bare ass and we almost weeped.
The draping! The beading! The lacy black thong! This is clearly an outfit that has been made by a lingerie designer for a model.
Oh, and it's literally all hanging by a thread.
"The entire gown is made from one piece of string," La Perla's creative director Julia Haart explained. "It's a very strong, very flexible, incredibly thin piece of nylon, and we've strung 85,000 crystals onto it.
"Aside from her underwear - a hand-painted black bodice - that's it."
Kendall's dress jumped between FIVE different cities as it was pulled together, with artisans, industrial and chemical engineers getting involved.
"When I described a one-string gown to my team, I was told it's not possible," Julia added. "Of course, that just made me want to do it more."
