Cee Lo Releases "Robin Williams" With Interactive Music Video
Now this is cool.
Cee Lo Green has been off our radar for the past five years after releasing hits such as 'Forget You' as well as making up half of the duo 'Gnarls Barkley'.
But his return to music cannot be ignored.
Releasing a song 'Robin Williams' in tribute to the late actor takes a look at comedy's dark side and people's ability to put on a front to hide their internal suffering.
“ ‘Robin Williams’ is a homage to our humanity,” Green said in a statement, “centered [on] the strength it takes to smile in the face of adversity.”
The lyrics continue to preach the message.
“We don’t know what the next man’s going through
Wish I could say it in a plainer way
We don’t know life reminds me of Robin Williams
We’ve got to laugh the pain away,”
But that isn't the only reason this song is turning heads.
Their is also an interactive video clip that accompanies the song, and while it initially looks similar to a number of 'lyric videos', this one has a twist.
While watching the clip, users can toggle between tabs to see search results from the perspective of web, images, shopping and videos.
It adds a new element to the clip.
And an especially haunting moment every time Robin Williams' name is sung, with his face plastering the screen through search results.
