Hackers Have LEAKED ‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 5
A hacker is causing Netflix all sorts of problems after allegedly releasing the first 10 episodes of its much awaited series Orange Is The New Black online.
Known only as 'the dark overlord' the hacker allegedly sent the streaming giant a ransom letter asking for a 'modest' amount to not upload the content online.
It appears Netflix refused to negotiate with the hacker who subsequently allegedly uploaded the series to an online site.
In a cringey statement the cyber-criminal wrote:
"It didn't have to be this way, Netflix. You are going to lose a lot more money in all of this than what our modest offer was. We are quite ashamed to breathe the same air as you."
"We figured a pragmatic business such as yourselves would see and understand the benefits of cooperating with a reasonable and merciful entity like ourselves," the statement continued.
The hacker claims to have stolen other popular shows from other networks. Netflix have been quiet on the matter, only commenting that they are aware of the situation and that a production vendor used by several major TV studios had its security compromised and that the appropriate law enforcement authorities were involved.
