MAFS’ Cyrell Physically Assaulted In Racist Attack At Cafe

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward after what they described as an “affray” took place at a Shoal Bay business over the weekend, involving Married At First Sight star Cyrell Paule and her Love Island boyfriend Eden Dally.

In a series of posts to her Instagram account, Cyrell has accused a woman of physically assaulting and hurling racist abuse at her at a cafe on Government Road at about 2:30pm on Sunday.

The reality TV star broke down in tears in an emotional video as she explained that she had been attacked in an “unprovoked” attack at Pelican Cafe in Post Stephens.

Police have said in their statement that a verbal argument broke out between a couple - Cyrell and Eden - and a 25-year-old female customer.

They say that Cyrell and Eden left the establishment before returning, when the altercation became physical and another female customer became involved to separate the parties.

NSW Police have said that no reports of injuries have been received.

However, in her posts to Instagram, Cyrell has claimed that she was called a “black monkey” before having her throat grabbed by a woman.

“So I’m a little shaken up right now because me and Eden [Dally] were just about to leave Shoal Bay, we just had lunch,” Cyrell explained, visibly shaken by the incident.

“And this lady… thought it would be hilarious while I’m walking down the street to turn around and call me a f***ing black…” she trailed off as she began to break down in tears.

Eden, who was with Cyrell at the time, finished her sentence saying, “[The woman] called [Cyrell] a black monkey and came outside and tried to fight her so I walked in the cafe and said ‘what’s the need to be racist and call people black monkeys?’

“Then she grabbed Cyrell by the throat and pushed her and I had to defend Cyrell.

“And then they’re pushing me and filming it claiming they’re the victims - I’m saying why [are they] coming out and calling her a black monkey?… You’re a disgrace, you’re an embarrassment.”

“At the end of the day, we’re still human beings. Shame on you all,” Cyrell added at the end.

She later shared an image of her neck, which showed light bruising and scratches, as well as footage taken of the incident that appeared to support Cyrell and Eden's recount of events.

In a later post to her Instagram story, Cyrell said that she was contacted by police to take down the video, but refused because she said she will not be silenced.

Cyrell and Eden also appeared to be angry with the owners of the establishment where the incident took place, for witnessing the incident but doing nothing to stop it.

Daily Mail Australia reportedly approached staff at Pelican Cafe for comment and claim that an employee posed as a police officer before claiming that the reality TV stars’ claims are “a load of crap”.

Friends of Cyrell and Eden have since come out on social media, voicing support for the pair.

NSW Police have voiced concern in their statement, with Acting Inspector Kristin Marshall saying that they are concerned about commentary on social media.

They have also said that at no time were anyone employed by the business involved in the incident.

Anyone who has any information about the incident should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
