Even Serena Calls Her Plan To Return To Tennis 'Outrageous'

Three months.

That’s how long grand slam champion Serena Williams has given herself to return to tennis after she gives birth.

More specifically, January 2018.

"It's the most outrageous plan," she told Vogue.

"I just want to put that out there. That's, like, three months after I give birth. I'm not walking anything back, but I'm just saying it's pretty intense."

Wimbledon got me like: Easy standing drills this morning. Go easy.

After announcing her pregnancy, it was discovered that Williams was pregnant when she won the Australian Open in Melbourne against sister Venus. A win that took her grand slam tally to 23.

She said it was also this game which gave her an indication of her baby's gender.

"Two weeks after we found out, I played the Australian Open. I told Alexis [Ohanian, her fiance] it has to be a girl because there I was playing in 100-degree [fahrenheit] weather, and that baby never gave me any trouble. Ride or die. Women are tough that way."

She is currently the reigning Australian Open champion.
