An Australian Airline Has A HUGE Problem With Its Planes
Planes in Jetstar’s Dreamliner fleet are flying with an engine issue that could cause complete shutdown while in the air.
The Australian airline is working quickly to fix the problem which was flagged earlier this year by General Electric, who made the engines in its twin-engine Boeing 787 fleet.
Inside five months, Jetstar has fixed the issue inside 11 of its 24 GEnx engines, according to The Australian.
The issue is the same one that diverted a Jetstar flight bound for Gold Coast from Narita in Japan.
Repairs started after General Electric issued a bulletin flagging a ‘transfer gearbox’ problem.
Jetstar is not the only airline affected with Air Canada, Air India, China Southern Airlines, Etihad Airways, Xiamen Airlines, United Airlines and Vietnam Airlines all having planes with the same issue.
All planes should be fixed between November and March next year.
