Spiders Appear To Rain Down In Brazil

In news that will have you never going outside again, comes footage of hundreds of spiders appearing to rain down from the sky in Brazil.

Locals from Espírito Santo do Dourado, about 250km northeast of São Paulo, have literally described the sky as “raining with spiders”.

One of the vids was taken by 14-year-old João Pedro Martinelli Fonseca, who had been visiting his grandparent’s farm, told local media that he was “stunned and scared”.

But, get this: experts say that the spiders aren’t falling but are just moving on a canopy-like shared web, which is pretty typical for the area when it’s hot and humid.

The species of spider, known as parawixia bistriata, are known to make their webs high up.

The web is so fine that it’s nearly impossible to see it, which gives the impression the spiders are falling from the sky.

Not that this makes it any less terrifying.
