There Is Some AMAZING News For Aldi Shoppers!

Aldi Australia is going to be spending more than $1 billion over the next three years on expanding and revamping its east coast stores.

As well as expansion and revamps it will also be increasing its fresh food range to address a major gap in its sales offer.

Chief executive Tom Daunt has details has plans to expand and refurbish the retailers entire fleet on the eastern seaboard, which will see the stores increase by 25 per cent.

There will also be up to 100 more items being added to each store, but their overall range will be still way less than the 25,000 separate items offered by Coles and Woolworths.

"We're not trying to become another major supermarket, we like to keep things simple and very efficient for the consumer so we can pass those cost savings through to really good quality products sold at the lowest prices in the market," Mr Daunt told The Australian Financial Review on Tuesday.

Aldi is expected to open another 25 new stores by the end of 2016, which will increase its share of the supermarket segment to 12%.

There are three things Aldi will not be adding to its stores, and they are in-store bakeries, fishmongers, cheese counters and delicatessens as they prefer to keep costs down.
