The Super Easy Trick To Cut The Calories In Your Food By HALF!
We all want to take in less calories, let's be real. But it's a bit of a problem when it means we need to, you know... eat less.
According to a report on cosmopolitan.com, scientists have discovered a way to cook rice that means you're intaking half the calories, because they're being removed from the food!
All you have to do, is boil one teaspoon of coconut oil and one cup of water, then add half a cup of regular white rice and let it simmer for up to 40 minutes (or until the water is all absorbed.)
Fluff it with your fork and then place it in the fridge for at least 12 hours and microwave it when you're ready to eat.
So, what is this wizardry?
Well, scientists and researchers say that it's the combination of cooking and cooling that turns regular starch (carbs) in rice into resistant starch. This version stands up to the digestive enzymes that help your body absorb calories from food.
The result is amazing.
Rice that contains 10 to 15 times more resistant starch contains 50 to 60 per cent fewer calories than regular rice cooked the normal way.
The BEST bit is, cooking your rice this way doesn't change the taste and barely affects the texture. The EVEN BETTER bit is that this method can be applied to and achieves the same results when applied to other kinds of rice, corn, potatoes and pasta!
