However there ARE things that you really shouldn't ignore when it comes to your period and if things start changing out of the blue you should dig a little deeper to investigate and see if there's something else going on.

1 Spotting Between Your Periods

There's usually a logical explanation for spotting between your period, it could be the contraceptive pill or prescription meds, but to be on the safe side and make sure it's not a symptom of endometriosis, STIs, a thyroid disorder or an ectopic pregnancy a visit to your healthcare provider should be made to determine if there is any cause for concern.

2 Getting Your Period For A Really Long Time

Most women menstruate for between 4 - 8 days. However if periods last longer (weeks on end) it could be an indication of a hormonal imbalance, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), or blood clotting disorders. If this is the case you're better off getting some medical advice to get to the bottom of things.

3 Your Period Blood Has A New, Foul Odor
