An American Discount Chain Is Opening Seven Stores In Sydney
Say goodbye to your next three paychecks, because TK Maxx is opening its first of seven huge superstores in Sydney from today!
The American chain is famous for sourcing excess designer products and selling them at a very welcome discount, and our Aussie shops will be stuffed full of brands like Michael Kors, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Ben Sherman and Nautica.
9News spoke to Tessa Buenen ahead of the launch of stores in Campbelltown, Castle Hill, Chatswood, Fairfield, Hillsdale, Mount Druitt and Penrith and she explained just how many deals there were to be made.
"Let's say a department store cancels an order, a manufacturer makes too much product or a vendor's got too much stock they want to clear at the end of the season," Ms Buenen said. "We go in, we negotiate great value on that product and we pass those savings on.
"In the past three years, Australia's seen a whole host of new retailers appear on the scene, and because they've got more excess stock - along with the fashion houses - that's the way TK Maxx works.
"It sources that excess stock here and overseas and keeps the prices lower."
These seven new stores are the first in a plan for 35 Australian TK Maxx outlets, with further shops planned for Newcastle, Wollongong and Ryde.
