Sports Star Suspended After Having Sex In Disabled Toilet
Halfback Aaron Smith is heading home from the All Blacks' tour of South Africa after he was suspended for an airport toilet incident. He was stood down after details emerged of the incident, which took place in Christchurch last month.
A couple at the airport heard him having sex in the disabled toilet with a female friend.
Telling Stuff.co.nz they heard ‘rhythmic tapping noises’ coming from the cubicle in Christchurch airport as they stood outside after seeing Smith and the woman entering within 30 seconds of each other.
The couple needed to take their young son, who was in a pram, to the toilet.
Smith and the unknown woman were caught on camera entering the disabled toilet before the incident happened.
The All Blacks star, who was wearing his uniform at the time, rejoined his fellow teammates afterwards and greeted fans who had gathered around the players.
Reports say the woman he was seen with at the airport was not his girlfriend. Smith's 22-year-old girlfriend, Teagan Voykovich, is yet to comment.
Smith has not been considered for selection for this weekend's Rugby Championship Test in Durban.
The All Blacks head coach has been quoted in The Daily Mail saying,
'I had a conversation with Aaron on Tuesday, and he confirmed the story...As a result of that the leadership group met and were unanimous in the fact that behaviour wasn't acceptable and as a consequence, a one-match suspension would be put in place. 'Clearly, Aaron is bitterly disappointed with his behaviour and feels he has let the team down but just as importantly feels he is bitterly disappointed in letting his family and partner down.'
Do you think Smith deserves this punishment?
