A Spring heatwave is being caused by a large high pressure system moving across from Western Australia.

According to Weatherzone, South Australia is on track for its hottest weather spell since last summer and its hottest November spell in six years.

The hottest days across the country will be Tuesday the 17th, Wednesday the 18th and Thursday the 19th.

However the Sydney CBD is forecast to hit 38 degrees by Friday with some of the western suburbs likely to reach over 40 degrees.
