Australia's Ice Capital Has Been Revealed

The Nation's ice capital has been revealed and the answer might surprise you.

A sewage analysis has confirmed that the nation's biggest user of the drug ice is Adelaide.

South Australia as a whole is also the state with the highest methylamphetamine use, a report by the National Waste Monitoring Drug Program says.

"It demonstrates the need for a statewide but also a national response," Substance Abuse Minister Peter Malinauskas said.

Ice is regarded as the most addictive of all illicit substances.

When ice is used, the brain is flooded with monoamines, producing an adrenaline like effect, which makes the heart beat faster and pupils dilate. Ice can also cause paranoia and hallucinations, also known as methamphetamine psychosis.

It can take 1-2 days for the drug to completely wear off.
