Bob Katter's Bizarre Marriage Equality Rant Goes Viral
An Australian politician's bizarre marriage equality rant has gone viral after his response took an unexpected turn.
A clip of the North Queensland Federal MP Bob Katter being asked for his opinion on last week's same-sex marriage survey results at a press conference surfaced on Sunday night's episode of Insiders, leaving the hosts in stitches.
"I mean, y'know, people are entitled to their sexual proclivities," Katter begins brightly, looking around and smiling. "Let there be a thousand blossoms bloom, as far as I'm concerned."
But the pollie's chuckles are abruptly cut short as he suddenly becomes furious.
"But I AIN'T spendin' any time on it, because in the meantime, every three months, a person is torn to pieces by a crocodile in North Queensland," he rants.
The internet quickly picked up on the hilarious ramblings and sent the clip around the world.
The funniest bit is the head nod/shake behind him when he says 'sexual proclivities' 😀 His nodder wasn't quite sure what to do.— Andie Dee (@Andiedoodaa) November 19, 2017
Oh my god, this was hilarious, but not in a good way. He came across all Jekyll and Hydish, was very creepy 😐— Raelene Govett (@rgovett1) November 19, 2017
... but what does this even mean? Blossoms? Sudden angry face, crocodiles? I’d feel safer adrift with a same sex attracted crocodile called Blossom than with Katter but I AIN’T SPENDING ANY MORE TIME ON IT!— Karen Dodemaide (@KDodemaide) November 19, 2017
