BREAKING: Shark Attack At Evans Head On NSW North Coast
A man in his 40s has been attacked by a shark at a beach in northern NSW.
The attack happened at Evans Head, south of Ballina, on Friday morning before 6am, a Surf Life Saving NSW spokeswoman said.
The man has been bitten on the thigh, she said.
Emergency crews responded to the incident and transported the victim to Lismore Base Hospital.
His injuries are serious but he is in a stable condition.
Further north on the Ballina Coast there has been a fatal shark attack this year, and beaches have been closed this week.
There have been two other attacks in the area this month.
Weeks ago a surfer was knocked off his board at Lennox Head, and a body boarder was mauled at Ballina by what was believed to be a Great White two days before.
