Delivery Truck Stolen In Western Sydney

A man has been charged after he allegedly stole a delivery truck in Western Sydney.

The driver parked his van on Yarrara Road in Pennant Hills while making a delivery around 5pm yesterday.

The man walked a short distance from the van when he allegedly noticed a man enter the vehicle and drive off.

The owner was able to track the van to the Hawkesbury area using a GPS device, and alerted police.

About 7.20pm, Hawkesbury Police were patrolling the vicinity of Castlereagh Road, Hobartville, when they noticed a similar van. They followed the van into Francis Street, Richmond where the vehicle came to a stop.

The 32-year-old Woolloomooloo man was arrested and taken to Windsor Police Station. He was charged with take and drive conveyance without consent of owner and drive while disqualified.

He was refused bail to appear in Penrith Local Court today.
