Elderly Woman injured After Car Ploughs Into House
A car has ploughed though the home of an elderly woman in northwest Sydney, injuring her in the process.
NSW police have confirmed that the crash occurred at a Cherrybrook home at around 1pm on Sunday when a 69-year-old driver was picking up a relative, who was waiting in the driveway. Reports stated that a car had crashed through a house before coming to a stop in the living room.
An 81-year-old woman was inside the house when the car ploughed into it. Paramedics treated her at the scene for a suspected fractured leg and facial injuries and was transported to Westmead Hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the vehicle was trapped for some time in the vehicle but suffered no significant injuries. She was treated for shock at the scene before being taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Fire and Rescue NSW also attended the scene to check the damage but they stated that the house suffered no structural damage.
