Fire Crackers Spark Grass Fire In Western Sydney
Police are investigating a grass fire which occurred in Sydney’s west overnight as a result of the use of fire crackers.
Emergency services rushed to a grassed hill around 1am last night between Butu Wargun Drive and Clunies Ross Street, Pemulwuy.
After 2 hours and 45 minutes, the fire was extinguished. Fire damage was restricted to the grass on the hill.
Once extinguished, police located a number of firecrackers and a cigarette lighter at the scene. These items were seized and will be subject to forensic examination.
