Homes Destroyed In Multiple Fires Across Sydney Overnight
Three families have made lucky escapes from their burning homes after three separate fires in Sydney overnight.
An elderly mother and her son managed to make it out of their Casula home just in time after a fire engulfed the house at around 10pm last night.
The 86-year-old woman has suffered smoke inhalation while her 62-year-old son has burns to his hands. Their neighbour risked his life to save the pair after hearing cries and seeing fire and smoke pouring from the house.
Meantime, a separate fire in Cabramatta in Sydney’s southwest has completely destroyed a townhouse and significantly damaged another.
Fire services were called to McBurney Road at 11pm on Monday to find the blaze raging through the townhouse. Nearby residents were evacuated as fire crews worked to stop the flames from spreading. Thankfully no one was injured in this fire.
A third fire occurred at a unit in Kirribilly last night and an elderly woman had to be helped from the burning building.
Police don’t believe that any of the blazes are suspicious.
