Earthquake Hits Queensland And It Could Lead To A Tsunami
An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale has hit off the coast of Queensland near Bowen.
Tremors have been felt in Airlie Beach, Mackay and Townsville.
Early reports had said the quake is ‘Potentially Tsunamigenic' but this has now been denied and residents should only call triple zero if they need urgent help.
Just experience my first ever #earthquake in Moranbah, Central Queensland. Very scary & shook our whole office building (which is huge).— Taylor Battersby (@taylorbattersby) August 18, 2016
