Man Bashed In Head With Hammer During Road Rage Attack

A Sydney man will face court after he allegedly bashed another man in the head with a hammer and fractured his skull during a terrifying road rage attack.

Police were called to Ettalong Road in Auburn on Thursday afternoon where they found a 65-year-old man lying next to his ute with serious head injuries.

A 25-year-old Guildford man has since been arrested over the incident.

Officers were told that two men became involved in a fight following a road-rage incident before the 25-year-old struck the older man in the head with a hammer.

The injured man was taken to Westmead Hospital where he was treated for a fractured skull. He has since been released.

The 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is due to appear in Burwood Local Court later today on charges of causing grievous bodily harm to a person with intent.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with information or dash cam footage of the incident to contact Auburn Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
