Man Charged Over Shooting Murder At A Western Sydney Café
A man has been charged with murder after being arrested by Homicide Squad detectives investigating the shooting murder of Ho Ledinh at Bankstown last month.
Just after 3.35pm on Tuesday 23 January 2018, 65-year-old local solicitor, Ho Ledinh, was shot while sitting at a cafe at Bankstown City Plaza.
Despite the efforts of police, NSW Ambulance Paramedics, and members of the community, the Mr Ledinh died at the scene.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, and Bankstown detectives, established Strike Force Eugene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Yesterday morning a 38-year-old man was arrested by Strike Force Eugene investigators at Sydney International Airport as he boarded a plane for Bali.
He was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with murder.
Police will allege in court the man approached Mr Ledinh and shot him a number of times at close-range.
The man was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today (Wednesday 14 February 2018).
Strike Force Eugene detectives also executed a search warrant at a home unit at Hammondville, where they have seized items relevant to the investigation.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting are continuing, and further arrests are expected.
