Man Killed In Alleged Road Rage Attack With Axe

A man has died and another has been arrested following a fight in Sydney’s west with police seizing an axe after the bloody altercation.

Emergency services were called to Sydney Luke Road in Cabramatta West at about 8:45pm last night following reports of a car crash and two men fighting.

Police officers attended the scene where they located a man with a wound to his head. The man died at the scene.

He has not yet been formally identified but he is believed be a 59-year-old man.

A second man, aged 75, was taken into custody and an axe was seized. He was first taken to Fairfield Police Station before being taken to Liverpool Hospital for an unrelated medical condition.

A crime scene was set up by specialist officers and detectives from Fairfield City Police Area Command have established Strike Force Pierson to investigate the incident, believed to be a road rage attack.

Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.
