Man fatally stabbed at Bondi Junction

A man in his 60s has been fatally stabbed in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs.

On Saturday evening around 8pm, emergency services were called to KFC on Oxford Street in Bondi Junction, following reports a man had been stabbed multiple times.

Another man in his 30s also suffered stab wounds.

He was arrested and taken to St Vincent’s hospital under police guard.

The older man had a cardiac arrest and attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

He died at the scene.

It is unknown if the men were known to each other.

NSW Police Acting Superintendent Peter Glynn told media on Sunday how members of the community came to the aid of both men and said the incident was "tragic" so close to Christmas.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000.
