Man Stabbed In Broad Daylight At Bankstown City Plaza
NSW Police have confirmed that a violent attack in western Sydney earlier today has left one man in hospital and another in police custody.
Officers were first called to Cafe Nho in Bankstown City Plaza just after 10.35am on Tuesday following reports that a man in his 60s had been stabbed in the chest.
A witness told The Daily Telegraph that the alleged attacker had asked the older gentleman for a cigarette; when he refused, the younger man pulled out a knife.
While the victim was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition, police continued to search for the assailant, making an arrest just over an hour later at an address not far from the scene.
A 35-year-old man is now assisting police with their inquiries.
