Serious Four-Car Pile-Up In Sydney's West Overnight

A number of people have been taken to hospital after a serious four-car pile-up in Sydney's west overnight.

Police were called to the scene at Mamre Road near Kerrs Road in Mount Vernon just before 9pm on Tuesday where they found a Mazda 3 had collided head-on with a Mitsubishi Lancer.

A Holden Commodore and a Mitsubishi Pajero were also involved.

The driver of the Mazda, a 23-year-old woman, was taken to Liverpool Hospital with lacerations to her head and chest along with the 21-year-old driver of the Lancer, who suffered fractured legs and hips.

The other two drivers were treated for shock and minor injuries; the 24-year-old driver of the Holden was also taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory testing.
