Shopkeeper Behind Rozelle Blaze Sentenced Over Deaths Today
Today, Adeel Ahmad Khan, the man believed to be responsible for starting the fire that claimed the lives of three people, including Bianka O’Briend and her one-year-old son, Jude, is set to be sentenced.
The shopkeeper, who had premises below where the family lived, is thought to have started the blaze in order to secure an insurance payout and get out of his lease obligations.
In June, Khan was found guilty of the manslaughter of 11-month old Jude and his mother Bianka, as a result of starting the September 2014 blaze.
He had earlier been found guilty of destroying his shop for financial gain and murdering Chris Noble, who lived upstairs.
Khan will be sentenced in the NSW Supreme Court today.
