Sydney, Get Ready To SWELTER Today!

Sydney is set to swelter today with the mercury expected to rise well into the 30s.

The unseasonably hot weather comes at the tail end of a weekend of warm temperatures; Sydneysiders piled onto beaches around Maroubra, Bondi and Manly as temps topped out at 33 degrees on Sunday.

But today may very well put the weekend to shame, with predicted highs of 35 degrees - although not for long.

"There will be a drop in temperature by Tuesday with the cold front moving across the state and out over the waters and past Sydney," Bureau of Metereology forecaster Jordan Notara said.

And what a drop it will be; tomorrow's looking at least 14 degrees cooler thanks to a cool front on its way up from the south west.

Basically we're not saying you should call in sick and hit the beach today but... you should totally call in sick and hit the beach today.
