Sydney Man Allegedly Carried ‘Gun’ On Train Yesterday
Police received multiple calls yesterday claiming that a man on a Sydney train was carrying a gun. Officers eventually stormed the train and arrested the man.
Police said in a statement that one of the complaints stated that a passenger had an interaction” with a man who allegedly lifted his shirt up to reveal a handgun.
“The passenger then moved away from the man and contacted police on his mobile phone,” the statement said.
Police entered the train at Townhall railway station at about 12pm yesterday and arrested a 42-year-old man. They have since revealed that the fire arm was actually a cap gun.
The man was charged with intimidation, wilfully interfere with comfort and safety of passenger and possession of unauthorised pistol and was taken to Day Street Police Station.
