Sydney Man Seeks Stem Cell Donor To Save His Life

Ryan Tellini is a Sydney man suffering with Myelofibrosis; a serious bone marrow disorder that disrupts your body’s normal production of blood cells.

The result of this condition is extensive scarring in your bone marrow, leading to severe anemia, weakness, fatigue and often an enlarged spleen.

Needless to say, he needs help. Ryan put out a post pleading for a stem cell donor for a bone marrow transplant, as his brother was unfortunately not a match.

If you’d like to help, Ryan’s post will give you all the information you need: ‘No bones required just your blood as stem cell procedures are currently used as a newer type of procedure.

'In the next 6 months to a year i will undergo an allogeneic bone marrow stem cell transplant. I currently don't have a donor match. I'm hopeful to find a donor in Sydney but most likely someone worldwide. I cant say if you will match my blood but tissue typing test in a lab is needed its rare to match anyone.’

All parts of helping Ryan are completely FREE.

Simply book an appointment with the red cross and tell them you would like to be a registered Bone marrow donor and donate your stem cells for bone marrow transplants. They will take blood with an extra sample used for tissue typing.

Call 13 14 95 red cross blood service. (Australia wide) Remember to register as a bone marrow donor and register your stem cells.

Once you are registered you will go on the Australian national register, they can then find a match. If we match up the red cross will notify me.

Ryan is waiting for that call every day to save his life.
