Sydney Set For Massive Heatwave This Week
Just as you thought Summer was winding down, it’s come back with a vengeance.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a heatwave alert for severe to extreme heatwave conditions for much of NSW from today until Thursday.
The alert warns that temperatures are predicted to hit 40 degrees in Sydney’s west this week.
Sydney’s top temps in the city are forecast to reach at least 30 degrees each day from Monday to Thursday.
The Bureau of Meteorology said northern parts of NSW were already close to 40C - with the heat still building.
“Tomorrow and Wednesday, some inland locations will get up to 42 or 43C and while in the east of the state temperatures will initially be in the low 30s that’s expected to increase over the next few days,” a spokeswoman said.
“Thursday is going to be the hottest day of this week for Sydney but generally all days are going to be hot and sticky particularly in the west.”
