Teenage Boy Feared Drowned At Maroubra Beach Overnight
A desperate search has resumed for a missing teenage boy who is feared to have drowned at Sydney’s Maroubra Beach overnight.
Authorities were called to the southern end of the beach around 8:30pm last night, after the 14-year-old boy and his 14-year-old cousin got into trouble while out in the water.
A 26-year-old passerby rescued one of the boys, but the other boy had vanished in the rough surf.
Authorities spent most of the night searching for the boy, but the search was placed on hold at midnight due to poor visibility and dangerous surf conditions.
The search resumed on Wednesday at 7:30am, involving police and Surf Rescue crews.
