Teenager Assaulted & Robbed, Suffers Head & Face Injuries

Detectives are investigating the assault and robbery of a teenager in Blacktown overnight.

Around 9pm last night, two teenagers were walking along Newton Road, Blacktown when they were approached by a group of youths.

One of the teens, aged 17, was assaulted by the group and suffered minor head injuries.

The group fled the scene with the 17-year-old’s schoolbag prior to the arrival of police.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command attended and spoke with the two teenagers however they were uncooperative with police.

Shortly after 10pm in nearby St Martins Crescent, a two-year-old child was inside his home when several windows were shattered.

The child suffered minor lacerations and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

Police were called to the home and an investigation was commenced.

About 10.15pm officers were called to Cobb Lane, Blacktown, following reports that a youth had been found on the road suffering facial lacerations.

On arrival officers recognised the youth as being the 17-year-old who had his bag stolen earlier in Newton Road.

He was taken to The Children’s Hospital, Westmead, in a stable condition and will require surgery.

Detectives are now piecing together the three incidents and would like to speak with anyone who may have information that could assist.
