The Four People Dead At Dreamworld Identified

Three of the four people who were killed in a horror water accident at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast have been identified, in what is now being called a ‘family tragedy.’

Roozbeh Araghi, 38, Luke Dorsett, 35, and Kate Goodchild, 32 all died after the Thunder River Rapids ride they were on appeared to malfunction, with one of the rafts flipping on a conveyor belt, according to the Courier Mail.

A 42-year-old woman who also died at the scene is yet to be identified, but New Zealand media is reporting she is an Australian based woman originally from Auckland.

Ms Goodchild’s partner and young daughters had to be consoled by emergency services as the tragedy unfolded.

It is believed that the group were on holiday from Canberra.

Late last night, police and consular officials were working to notify the relatives of one of the men.

Mr Araghi and Mr Dorsett made legal history in the ACT two years ago, successfully challenging a stamp duty bill on a home they bought.

The horror at Dreamworld happened at just after 2 pm on the Thunder River Rapids Ride, which is a water-based raft ride using conveyor belts.

All four were pronounced dead at the scene in what is Australia’s worst theme park disaster since 1979 when seven people died in a fire on the Ghost Train at Luna Park in Sydney.
