If your phone seemed to stall yesterday - or you failed to get through to someone you were trying to reach, I’m sure you know by now that Telstra was having yet ANOTHER outage.
Their third big outage in the space of around a month, Telstra chief Andy Penn has acknowledged that it’s not good enough, according to a report on SMH.
"One outage is not good enough ... two is absolutely unacceptable," Mr Penn said.
"All I can do is apologise, and I'm committing address this and to doing everything we can to make sure it doesn't happen again".
"On a personal level, I am deeply disappointed and I want to apologise to our customers."
It’s now been revealed that Thursday’s big issue, which saw around half of Telstra’s customers lose service, was due to congestion after a “large number of services” were disconnected at the same time and all attempted to automatically reconnect at once”, he said.
The original disconnection was due to an off-sea issue which was already affecting international roaming customers.
To make up for the inconvenience, Telstra customers will have free unlimited data on Sunday April 2 as a gesture of apology.
