Toddler Drowns In NSW Backyard Pool

A toddler has drowned after being pulled unconscious from a backyard pool in Port Stephens, NSW.

Police were called to a home on Marsh Road, Bobs Farm at about 6:40pm on Sunday evening after the 19-month-old boy had been found in the swimming pool.

NSW Ambulance paramedics performed CPR on the boy, however, he could not be save and died at the scene.

A crime scene was established and officers from Port Stephens Police District will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Initial investigations suggest that there are no suspicious circumstances involved.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
