Total Fire Ban Across Sydney Today
Total fire bans are in force across large swathes of NSW as hot and windy conditions threaten to fan a blaze burning north of Sydney.
More than 100 firefighters fought the flames at Beacon Hill on Tuesday afternoon and hoped to strengthen containment lines ahead of challenging conditions on Wednesday.

The fire threatened dozens of properties but crews managed to keep it at bay with the help of water-bombing aircraft.
It was predicted to continue smouldering overnight, but with no rain forecast firefighters will have to keep a close eye on the incident.
Some areas of the state are tipped to reach the mid-30s on Wednesday and gusty west-northwesterly winds are likely to elevate the fire danger.
Bans are in place in the greater Sydney, north coast, greater Hunter and northwestern districts.
