Traffic Is Going To Be NUTS In Penrith Tomorrow

Two major events taking place in Penrith on Saturday afternoon have prompted local police to issue a warning to motorists.

The area is expected to succumb to heavy traffic thanks to the Matildas' World Cup match at Pepper Stadium and the Defqon Dance Festival at the International Regatta Centre.

"Motorists need to plan their trips on Saturday on Mulgoa Road and allow extra travel time in and around both the Pepper Stadium and the Regatta Centre and surrounds," Penrith police said in a Facebook post.

The Matildas V Brazil game has totally sold-out, which will no doubt result in increased traffic and an increase in pedestrians in and around the stadium.

Gates open at 1.30pm, with kick-off at 3pm.

On top of that, the Defqon Dance Festival is expected to attract more than 20,000 people to the area, with the event running from 10.30am to 11pm.

The main message from police is to keep calm and plan ahead - or, if possible, avoid the area altogether.
