Two people are believed to have died after being found in waters north of Cairns.
Water police are on their way to Michaelmas Cay, where the two were found unconscious in the water.
Michaelmas Cay is a popular dive spot on the Great Barrier Reef.
The two who died were French tourists, The Cairns Post reports.
A third French tourist also reportedly got into trouble but survived.
Association of Marine Park Tourism Operators executive director Col McKenzie told the paper that tour operators and an off-duty doctor worked to treat all three, but two could not be saved.
