Western Sydney Supermarket Held-Up With A CARVING Knife

Police are investigating after a supermarket in Sydney's west was held-up yesterday evening.

A man, armed with a carving knife and a spanner, entered the shop on Rooty Hill Road South at about 5.45pm on Sunday and jumped over the counter.

The shop assistant complied with the man's demands for money and handed over a sum of cash; shortly afterwards, the thief, who was wearing some kind of face covering to conceal his identity, left on foot before getting into a dark vehicle on Barker Street.

Luckily no-one was injured in the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward or to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
