Woman In Critical Condition After Being Struck By School Bus
A woman aged in her 30s is currently recovering in hospital after being hit by a bus in Sydney’s east.
Emergency Services were called to New South Head Road in Double Bay at about 4pm yesterday after reports that a woman had been struck by a school bus that was carrying children.
The woman was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with serious head and chest injuries.
It’s believed that there were about 10 children on the bus during the time of the accident aged between 10 and 13. Thankfully, none of the children were injured.
The 68-year-old driver of the bus was treated for shock at the scene and was later taken to hospital to undergo mandatory blood and urine tests.
Forensic specialists will examine the scene and police officer form the Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command will open an investigation into how the crash occurred.
