Young Boy Suffers Rare Cardiac Arrest At Sydney Dance Class
A young boy is in a critical condition after suffering a cardiac arrest during an organised sport event in Sydney's south.
The eight-year-old collapsed at the event in Sylvania about 6pm on Monday and the CareFlight rescue helicopter was called as paramedics used a defibrillator to revive him.
It's understood he suffered cardiac arrest and fell unconscious after playing inside a hall, a CareFlight spokesman said in a statement.
Nine News have since reported that the child was taking part in a dance class when he became ill.
He was taken to Sydney Children's Hospital by ambulance.
