Pregnant Woman Smashes Into McDonald's Drive-Thru

Police are investigating after a car smashed into the drive-thru area of a McDonald’s fast food restaurant in Sydney’s west overnight.

Emergency Services were called to Elizabeth Drive, near Smithfield Road in Bonnyrigg Heights at around 10pm last night after reports that a Honda Accord sedan had crashed into the wall of the drive-thru section of the restaurant.

Investigations into how the accident occurred have been opened by South West Metropolitan Highway Patrol and Fairfield City Police Area Command.

The driver, a 24-year-old pregnant woman, and her male passenger were both uninjured but the woman was taken to Fairfield Hospital as a precaution.

The woman was also breath tested at the scene but this returned a negative result.

Thankfully no one else was injured during the accident.

Fire and Rescue NSW also attended the scene to make sure that the fast food establishment didn’t suffer from any structural damage.

Inquiries are continuing and anyone with information is being urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
