Beyoncé has been both MIA and extremely busy being a mother to three adorable kids.
But we want what we want, and what we want is MORE MUSIC, PLEASE QUEEN.
Bee dropped a trailer for her new visual album called ‘Black is King’ and what a TIME for it to drop culturally.
Apparently, ‘Black is King’ is inspired by The Lion King and is written, directed and executive produced by the queen herself.
You can watch the trailer below:
I am covered in goosebumps and frothing at the mouth.
THAT is a strong visual but it pales in comparison to the aesthetic feast hinted at in the trailer.
We can expect guest appearances from Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, 070 Shake, Tierra Whack, Jay-Z, Blue Ivy Carter.
The press release reads “The visual album from Beyoncé reimagines the lessons of The Lion King for today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns,” from Disney and from Beyoncé’s company, Parkwood Entertainment.
It continues to say “the album honors the voyages of Black families throughout time, and tells the story of a young king’s journey through betrayal, love and self-identity. Guided by his ancestors, father and childhood love, he earns the virtues needed to reclaim his “home and throne.”
The visual album/film has been a year in the making and drops on Disney+ on the 31st July!
