It was like that scene out of mean girls. You know when they’re at the mall and Cady imagines everyone acting like the animals in Africa? Well the Harper’s Bazaar Icons party at the Plaza Hotel on Friday night was exactly like this only it wasn’t a dream, it was reality.
In case you have no idea what we’re talking about, the two ruling female rappers Cardi B and Nicki Minaj took there long-running feud to a whole new level after footage emerged of them screaming at each other before taking things physical.
It’s alleged that Cardi launched at Nicki after she reportedly began talking about Cardi’s newborn daughter Kulture. Some people are also saying that Cardi actually threw her high heel at Minaj, but as Cardi exited the event she was the one seen with a lump on her eyebrow.
“It was so fast!” said an eyewitness to E! News. “I heard someone screaming – everyone recognised Cardi’s voice – people either got out of the way or took out their phones and started filming.
“Nicki was surrounded by a bunch of guards and barely even looked at her. Next thing you know, shoes were flying and Cardi was on her way out.”
Nicki Minaj had kept quiet about the incident but has since broken her silence in a new episode of her Queen radio show on Apple Music’s Beats 1. And let’s just say she ain’t happy!
Towards the beginning of the show, Nicki played an audio clip of Cardi saying, “I hate when some people come at me and it’s like, ‘Oh Cardi, why you coming at peoples’ kids for?”
Nicki then began to explain the incident saying that it was completely humiliating.
“The other night, I was a part of something so mortifying and so humiliating to go through,” said Minaj. “They [the crowds of people] were passing by looking at this disgusting…”
“I could not believe how humiliated it all felt because we…how we made ourselves look…I wanna say that I would never discuss anyone’s child and it’s so sad for someone to pin that on me,” the rapper continued.
Nicki continued to defend herself, saying that she would never go as low as to talk about another person’s child. “I am not a clown. That’s clown shit,” she said.
This comes after Cardi released a statement regarding the brawl on her Instagram account on the same night that the incident happened. In the statement Cardi accused Nicki of talking badly about her daughter and dissing her parenting skills.
