It’s no secret that Lizzo is a Twitter Machine. It might have taken two years for the world to quite comprehend how good Truth Hurts is, but she’s been there trying to show us all the light on Twitter the whole time. Constantly sharing everything that’s worth seeing, Lizzo’s latest celebrity Twitter run-ins have been a little wild.

It’s no surprise that Lizzo has been trending over and over on Twitter, especially after her hit Truth Hurts landed itself atop the Billboard Hot 100, nearly two years after it debuted in September 2017. Soon after, Lizzo started breaking the records, as Truth Hurts became the longest-charting #1 solo female rap song in history.

Now as Truth Hurts finds itself atop the Billboard charts for the 5th week in a row, Lizzo called upon her fans to stream it in the hopes it could topple the record for Longest-charting #1 Female Rap Song of all time, currently held by Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX with Fancy.

Tweeting her admiration for Fancy, Lizzo tagged Charli and said she was “genius on it”, telling fans to also stream Charli XCX’s latest album, Charli. Lizzo featured on Blame It On Your Love off Charli, with Charli describing Lizzo as the “Queen of Everything” when announcing the track.

Despite Lizzo’s positivity, the lack of a mention drew some ire from Iggy Azalea. The Aussie rapper, in a now-deleted tweet said “I could have SWORN I was the one rapping that song but okay…”

People clearly thought Azalea was taking things way too seriously, but according to her she was “just trolling at laughing at all the funny replies.”

Taking the gag up a notch, Azalea started a counter-campaign to get Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s song Señorita back to #1, to end Lizzo’s reign. Iggy changed her name on Twitter to “IGGY AZALEA stream senorita”, and ensuring her fans sacrificed streaming her 2019 album In My Defense in favour of Señorita.

This incident followed closely on the tail of actor Frankie Muniz making one of the weirdest celeb tweets of the year, choosing to bypass the DMs, instead publicly asking Lizzo if he can be her “accessory”, with a chain around him. Seriously strange. Lizzo responded in a way only she could, retweeting it with the correction “*accessorary”, referencing the term she coined for the track Tempo.

Lizzo is definitely worth a follow if you need some entertainment in your Twitter feed. If you need some Lizzo in your ears, you can always stream her iHeartRadio Artist station, just don’t take “in your ears” in the same way Frankie Muniz probably would.
