Some NSW drivers could be in for a big pay day with it being revealed that there is still $30 Million of unpaid CTP Green Slip rebates up for grabs from the NSW State Government.
Back in December 2017, the costs of compulsory third-party insurance were introduced to reduce the cost of green slips and as a result, some drivers overpaid on their CTP that year.
According to Nine News, Customer Service Minister Victor Dominello has said that many drivers still haven’t claimed their refund and are urging people to check if they are eligible.
“If you had a Green Slip in 2017, because of the reforms we introduced, you may be eligible, depending on when you paid your premium, to a partial refund,” said Minister Dominella.
Nine News reports that there are still 782,000 people who haven’t claimed their rebate, with a share in $30 million still available.
Drivers have until September 30 to claim their partial Green Slip refund.
Since 2017, 2.8 million drivers have already claimed back a total of $156 million, with some being refunded as much as $120.
“We’re now just trying to squeeze the last bit of the lemon, to make sure everybody gets their refund,” said Mr Dominello.
To claim your rebate, drivers can go into a Service NSW Centre or check online.
